Dear GA families

We are delighted to announce the date for this year’s annual sports day at Gloucester Academy.  This will be a great day with students competing in track and field events as well as other competitive sporting activities.

The event will now take place on Wednesday 13th July 2022.  Sports day is a compulsory whole school event with students involved in activities throughout the day.  Attendance is expected as per any other school day.  Students will be able to arrive on site at the normal time of 08:00 to 08:34am.  The school day will finish at the earlier time of 2:30pm in which all students will be dismissed.  Families are welcome to spectate for the whole or part of the event.  Parents will need to enter Gloucester Academy via the Norbury Avenue gate.  The gates will be open for entry and exit between the times below only;

• 9:45am  10:15am
• 11:45am 12:15pm

The gate will be open between 2:00pm to 2:30pm for the end of the event.  Students can either make their own way home, or be collected.

Students will need to arrive at school in their full GA PE kit.  This includes their GA polo top, plain black bottoms (skirt, shorts, or, tracksuit bottoms) and trainers.  All events throughout the day are outside, therefore we advise students to bring a sports cap as well as sunscreen.

Students will all be required to bring a water bottle with them on the day as well as a packed lunch with them for the day.  Students who receive free school meals will have this provided for them.  There will not be any opportunity to purchase additional food from the dining room on this day.

We will write to you closer to the time with further details of the programme for the day, this will support parents in deciding when they can attend.
