Progress 8
Progress 8 is a measure that is used to compare schools performance. The number indicates how far a school is from the national average of -0.03.
As a Greenshaw Learning Trust school we are enabling our students to do significantly better than they were able to when the school was not in the Trust. We will continue to improve our results at Gloucester Academy to ensure our students have the very best chances to succeed as they move into further education. Our score this year from our starting point makes us one of the most improved schools in the country.
The schools previous score of -1.48, when it was not in Greenshaw Learning Trust, meant that on average every student performed at least one grade lower in every subject than other students nationally. The score compares students that achieved the same key stage 2 results at primary school as each other. The Progress 8 score the school attained prior to becoming part of the Greenshaw learning Trust meant that students who achieved the same level in their primary tests did worse if they attended Gloucester Academy.
