Climb the mountain to the best university or profession.
Each student is equipped with careers knowledge, skills and experience to make aspirational choices leading to successful and fulfilling lives.
At Gloucester Academy we want to ensure that students leave education with the skills and knowledge enabling them to best participate in post-compulsory education and, later, in employment.
The academy has a designated Careers Leader, Mrs Hartsoe, who works closely with the GROWS Network of local further and higher education providers, Gloucestershire’s Local Enterprise Provider gFirst LEP and our link Career Enterprise Adviser.
Students have access to a comprehensive online careers platform, Career Pilot, and participate in a range of activities designed to give them an understanding of further and higher education, and labour market. There are assemblies hosted by local colleges, universities and apprenticeship providers, sessions devoted to careers education, encounters with employers, and access to independent career advice.
The Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme is progressive for students in years 7 to 11 and follows the eight Gatsby benchmarks as recommended by the government.
If you have any questions related to careers education at Gloucester Academy, please telephone the school office or email Ania Hartsoe at email@example.com .
