Dear GA families

We are delighted to announce the date for this year’s annual sports day at Gloucester Academy.  This will be a great day with students competing in track and field events as well as other competitive sporting activities.

The event will take place on Thursday 13th July 2023.  Sports day is a compulsory whole school event with students involved in activities throughout the day.  Attendance is expected as per any other school day.  Students will be able to arrive on site at the normal time of 8:00am to 8:35am. The school day will finish at the earlier time of 2:30pm in which all students will be dismissed via the Painswick Road entrance as usual.

Families are welcome to spectate for the whole or part of the event.  Parents will need to enter Gloucester Academy via the Norbury Avenue gate.  The gates will be open for entry and exit between the times below only;

•  9:45am - 10:15am
•  11:45am - 12:15pm

The Norbury Avenue gate will be open between 2:00 and 2:30pm for the end of the event.

Students will need to arrive at school in their full GA PE kit.  This includes their GA polo top, plain black bottoms (Skort, shorts, or, tracksuit bottoms) and trainers.  All events throughout the day are outside, therefore we advise students to bring a plain sports cap, sunglasses as well as sunscreen. The school will be unable to provide these.

Students will all be required to bring a water bottle as well as a packed lunch with them for the day. Students who receive free school meals will have lunch provided but will need to bring their own water bottle.  There will not be any opportunity to purchase additional food or drinks from the dining room on this day.
