Returning to School from the 8th March

Regarding : Whole school return

As you may be well aware the government made a statement last night regarding full school opening from the 8th March 2021.  Therefore, I wanted to write to everyone to give you an initial, and brief, summary of what we will now be planning.  We will be able to publish full plans early next week.  This will allow us to make any amendments necessary in light of any further announcements that may be made, rather than sending out multiple communications.

As directed we will carry out a 'phased' return for students over the week beginning the 8th March 2021, which will allow students to be offered 'rapid' testing.  This will mean that asymptomatic people who may otherwise have attended school are able to be identified and then to self- isolate.  Schools have been directed to carry out 3 rounds of testing, before test kits are then provided for students to be tested weekly at home.

We will inform you which days and time your child will be expected to present themselves for testing, during the week beginning the 8th March 2021.  Then which days they will be expected to attend school for normal lessons.

May I thank you once again for your patience and perseverance during this period.  It looks like there may well be light at the end of this very long tunnel!

Yours sincerely

Mr Jonathan Heap
