End of term and start of next year
The next school year 2023/24 starts on:
Wednesday 6th September 2023 for Year 7 and 11 and we welcome
Years 8, 9 and 10 back to school on Thursday 7th September 2023.
Dear GA families
I would just like to take a moment of your time to say a huge thank you for all your support this year.
This year, as you will read in the newsletters, has been an exceptional one, one where we are opening our doors to the community, forging links between primary schools and developing a winning culture at the school. We have loved welcoming you into school to discuss your children at Academic Review evenings, communicate with you through Information evenings and receive feedback by opening communication channels.
We see the school close for this academic year on Friday 21st July 2023 at 3.05pm with two inset days happening on the 24th and 25th July 2023 for staff only. We will be using these days to ensure we are fully prepared for the next chapter in our school's journey.
The next school year 2023/24 starts on:

Our new Year 7 and staff will be in for summer school over the holidays and their residential trip in August so we are looking forward to welcoming them into the GA community. We currently have only 18 spaces left for our new Year 7 students that start 6th September 2023, so please encourage anyone who you may know that doesn't have a place for their Year 6 child to book a tour.
Uniform
Please can you also make a note of a change to the uniform next year based on student feedback where we have introduced Gloucester Academy shorts that are available from Monkhouse for both boys and girls all year round. Shorts need to be worn with black ankle socks and shoes. Details of the uniform are on the website LINK
Packed lunch
Due to high numbers of enquiries we are also going to be offering a pre order packed lunch for students so they can avoid the queues more details on that will follow in September.
