I wanted to take this opportunity to write to you all to express how proud I am of the students at Gloucester Academy and congratulate them on their fantastic start to the new academic year.  Students are fully engaging in learning, demonstrating our values of excellence, pride and ambition and are working hard and being kind to each other. 

Part of the culture and ethos at Gloucester Academy is our expectations around homework.  As with other areas of the school we have the highest standards and expectations when it comes to this.  If your child doesn’t complete or meet the expected standards with regards to homework then they will be issued with an after school detention.  This will be sat on the same day their homework is due and will run from 3.05pm – 3.35pm.

The only exception is if your child has a detention the same day as their Elite Sport day or if they are in Year 11.  If this is the case their detention will run from 4.05pm – 4.35pm on the same day.  If you have any concerns about your child travelling home from detention at this time please arrange for them to be collected from the school site.
