26th January 2022 - Change of recommended guidance for use of face coverings

Dear GA Families

As ever may I firstly thank the GA community for supporting students through this challenging period, and supporting everyone to stay healthy where possible.

The latest government recommendation states that from Thursday 27th January 2022:

‘Face coverings will no longer be recommended in communal areas for staff, and pupils and students in year 7 and above.  Face coverings are already no longer recommended in classrooms and teaching spaces for staff, and pupils and students in year 7 and above.’

Therefore, as ever we will follow the government and DFE guidance, and we no longer expect students to be wearing a face covering unless you have informed us that you wish them to do so.

If you do wish your child to wear a face covering please email info@gloucesteracademy.co.uk  stating your child's NAME, TUTOR GROUP, and the reason why you wish your child to wear a face covering and in which areas.  We will then issue students with a pass to use to show they may continue to wear a face covering.

Many thanks once again for your support and cooperation.

Yours sincerely

Mr J Heap
