Staffing Changes at GA
I am writing to keep you up to date with the staffing changes that have happened this term, and in place for the summer term.
Ms Reid and Miss Milne have both made the decision to leave GA for personal reasons. We wish them all the very best and thank them for their support and commitment to the students here.
Mrs Allison, one of our two HR officers, who has been at the school for just short of 20 years will be retiring. We will miss her massively and wish her a well deserved rest and time with her grandchildren. She has been invited to come back for lunch anytime.
We welcome Mr Nabarro, as Deputy Headteacher, joining us with a wealth of experience in a school in north London. He has already been able to visit one day a week and has commented how polite and happy the students are here.
Finally, many of you may have been aware that we have been trailing the use of a school dog. Holly has been a fantastic addition and is supporting students in many ways. She is Kennel Club registered, is checked carefully and regularly by a vet, and has been brought up in an environment with young and teenage children, she is incredibly gentle. She is certainly very popular at lunch times, and when students just need that little extra boost. Holly’s ‘plan’ detailing how she is cared for and the rules in place can be found on the school website in the policies section. Please email cgasher@gloucesteracademy.co.uk if you wish to request that your child does not have any access to Holly, i.e. for allergy reasons or any others.
I am also pleased to report that we have recruited strongly for September 2021, making 7 appointments. All having a very strong academic background and excellent teaching skills. Every candidate commented on how impressed they were by the school and specifically sought and waited for vacancies to arise here.
Once again may I thank you and your child for supporting us as we improve to being one of the very best schools in England, whilst also being one of the happiest!
Yours sincerely
Mr J Heap
Headteacher
