Hello, my name is Miss Roper and I am the Achievement Lead for Year 7 and Head of Transition. It's my absolute pleasure to welcome your child to Year 7 at Gloucester Academy. 

I support the children in climbing their personal mountain to the very best universities and professions. I meet with the children each morning and celebrate their achievements in our weekly assembly. It is my aim to ensure that your child makes the most of their secondary school experience. 

My first priority is to make sure that your child settles in quickly so that they can truly make the most of their first year with us and experience the enriching and inspirational activities that take place at the school. Within their first week all children are allocated a house, and they will be actively encouraged to enter house competitions and celebrations. 

Moving from Primary to Secondary school is a big change, but I encourage you to start the dialogue with your child in Year 5 about our expectations. We have an excellent team of Year 7 tutors, and we can't wait to meet your child in September.
